Ground remediation planning consent marks progress in Whitefields plans

TAYLOR Wimpey East Scotland has been granted planning permission for a programme of pre-construction ground remediation works as part of the delivery of the new Whitefields neighbourhood in Dunfermline.

The Fife Council approval follows the completion of enabling work off Whitefield Road which included the demolition of the Wester Whitefield farm buildings.

Around 1,400 new properties are being created at Whitefields in north Dunfermline. A new primary school will be delivered along with provision for shops and community facilities.

25% of the new properties will be affordable homes, with new cycleways and pedestrian footpaths designed to encourage active travel throughout the development.

Pauline Mills, land and planning director at Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said, “We are very pleased to be continuing to make good progress in the significant preparations required to create our new neighbourhood Whitefields.”
