BUILDING services contractor Arc-Tech (Scotland) has taken on five new trade apprentices.
They will join the firm’s existing 19 apprentices, each undertaking a programme in heating engineering, electrical, and plumbing.
Glasgow-based Arc-Tech has an annual turnover in excess of £20 million with 140 staff.
The business revealed each new start will undertake a four-year apprenticeship programme with a part-theory, part–applied learning process adopted in partnership with colleges and undertaken alongside Arc-Tech’s site teams.
John Gallacher, Arc-Tech (Scotland) MD, said, “On behalf of the Arc-Tech (Scotland) board of directors, I am delighted to welcome five new apprentices to our business. Since our launch, we have placed a great deal of emphasis on providing opportunities for young people; apprenticeships are great ways of bringing people to the construction industry and the experience these newest recruits will have, alongside our existing workforce, will be invaluable to their development.
“I have every confidence that they will do well and I look forward to working with them during their apprenticeship.”
