A youth theatre in Falkirk has received a funding boost thanks to a local housebuilder.

Project Theatre, which was founded in 2008 by Jamie O’Rourke, focuses on promoting youth and community involvement in performing arts across Falkirk, Grangemouth and beyond by providing performing arts training and performance experiences.

The theatre received £1,000 from the Cala Homes (West) Community Bursary initiative, with the funding helping Jamie purchase PPE, a speaker. as well as dance mirrors and studio equipment.

“We want to say a massive thank you to Cala for their generous donation,” Jamie said. “We feel very lucky that we were able to secure the community bursary boost. This will help us to get more people within the community involved in Project Theatre.”

Sophie Whittaker, marketing manager for Cala Homes (West), added, “We’re delighted that we could donate £1,000 to Project Theatre. We are thrilled that the money is being used to help further the great things Jamie and the organisation does for the Falkirk community.”
