Morrison Construction to build new £17.5m West Lothian school

PLANS for the build of a new £17.5 million primary school in West Lothian have been given the green light.

Morrison Construction and hub South East are to deliver the new East Calder Primary School at Langton Road in the village.

It will come in replacement of the current school building, which has been deemed not suitable for the future delivery of high-quality education – due to a ‘number of issues’ including suitability, accessibility, and sustainability.

James Cameron, head of education (learning, policy and resources) at West Lothian Council, said, “This is an important step forward in the delivery of the new £17.5 million East Calder Primary School.

“The new school will enable us to provide the best possible learning environment for East Calder pupils, supporting delivery of a modern curriculum.”
