A family-run roofing firm has revealed it has relocated to new premises and been admitted to two industry bodies in recognition of its high standards.
Old Plean Roofing, run by Mark and Fiona Thornton, recently moved into a unit at Stirling’s Springkerse Industrial Estate.
The firm has also been accredited by the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFCR) and the UK-wide Buy With Confidence scheme assessed by Trading Standards.
It comes as part of a campaign by Old Plean Roofing to raise standards across the roofing industry and tackle the scourge of rogue traders.
Fiona said, “When we launched our roofing business, we did so with the goal of improving industry standards and offering an honest, reliable and transparent service. We hear so many heartbreaking stories about rogue roofers preying on unsuspecting people and we have even been involved in fixing the issues they’ve caused when they walk off site without completing work or fail to carry out a job properly.
“We’re always striving to do what we can to reassure clients and think it’s important that people know who they can trust – so applying to become members of the NFRC and the Buy With Confidence programme seemed a natural progression for us. The application procedures for both were quite long and rigorous so we’re pleased to have made the grade and be recognised for the standard of our work and our excellent customer service.”
Mark added, “It’s been a great start to the year so far with the move to our unit – which is a perfect base right in the heart of the central belt – and achieving recognition from two important industry organisations. We pride ourselves on our reputation and are thrilled to be granted the accreditations which demonstrate the first-class service we are determined to provide.
“It’s all part of our ongoing journey as we expand the business, build up our credibility and do all we can to represent the roofing industry in a positive way. Our aim is to become the roofing builder and maintenance contractor of choice in central Scotland.”
