Graduate apprenticeships have key role to play in Scotland’s economy

By Jen Henderson, head of talent partnerships at Heriot-Watt University

Graduate Apprenticeships are a key way to develop and retain skills and talent for business and play an important role in Scotland’s economy.

The Graduate Apprenticeship programme at Heriot-Watt University has a rich heritage of working with industry partners like construction engineering experts GRAHAM to produce degree-qualified employees who are equipped with the skills needed to shape growing and future industries.

Here, GRAHAM chats to two of its Graduate Apprentices – Thomas and Karen – who have either completed their apprenticeship or are just starting on their journey through the programme at Heriot-Watt University, to get their thoughts on how the scheme has helped to elevate their skills and career.
