Contractor outlines plans to breathe new life into abandoned Carluke site

THE JR Group has submitted proposals to bring an abandoned plot of land in Carluke back to life.

Plans for the site on Goremire Road have been submitted to South Lanarkshire Council, outlining a possible future for the disused land including 81 affordable residences within a Community Growth Area, alongside parking provision and other local amenities.

In collaboration with MAST Architects, engineers Clyde Design Partnerships, energy consultants Carbon Futures, and planning consultants Iceni Projects, The JR Group hopes to have planning approval by this summer.

Andrew Dallas, projects director for The JR Group, said, “Dealing with the planning department at South Lanarkshire Council has been a first-class experience, working collaboratively to design homes that the community will be proud of. We look forward to hearing the outcome of our application and hope to do further work with South Lanarkshire Council in the future.”
