THE Painting and Decorating Association (PDA) has produced a new app offering members the latest health and safety advice.
The Health and Safety in Painting and Decorating Handbook is now available to members online and will be updated as regulations change.
The PDA said the technology ensures members will always have the latest advice to hand.
Neil Ogilvie, PDA chief executive, explained, “The content of the Health and Safety Handbook has been reviewed by our Health, Safety and Environment committee, so everything is as up-to-date as possible. But legislation changes can happen quickly, which is where the development of the progressive web app is so valuable. The app allows members to easily find the topic they need – and because it’s online, we can easily up-date the content, so the latest information will be instantly available.
“Member feedback indicated that information accessible from a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop PC would be the most useful format, so we have taken that on board and developed this digital version which is compatible with all those devices. The handbook is a valuable asset to PDA member companies of all sizes, as it provides a handy reference tool for all operatives and is one of the major benefits of PDA membership.”
