GILLESPIE Macandrew has announced it completed new build plot sales worth over £250 million in 2021, representing almost 10% of all private new build house sales in Scotland.
The firm’s total plot sales reservations reached 1,471, compared with just 822 in 2020 when the pandemic caused a period of standstill.
Gillespie Macandrew has attributed the increase to a return to pre-pandemic activity levels as well as investment in the company’s housebuilding team and the ‘strength of its reputation’ among major UK housebuilders.
Harry Smith, head of housebuilder and construction at Gillespie Macandrew, said, “Despite the ongoing challenges facing the housebuilding sector, 2021 was a record year in terms of delivery for our clients. We continue to act for some of the largest and most active housebuilders in the UK and we remain positive that the market will continue to grow.”
The housebuilder team undertakes negotiations and delivery on strategic land acquisition, infrastructure requirements and new build sales across Scotland.
