CONSTRUCTION is complete on a new nursery building at Arisaig Primary School. The project was delivered by the Highland Council’s in-house property teams with Robertson taking on the role of principal contractor.
The move will allow the nursery to move out of the gym hall in the school and into its own dedicated facility.
The project meets the requirements of the Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) expansion programme. 82 construction projects have been taken forward to support the delivery of the ELC initiative, many of which also included other improvements to school buildings.
Councillor John Finlayson, chair of the education committee, said, “I was pleased to see the completion of this important and high-quality project. I am sure children, staff, parents and the wider community are all delighted with their new 21 century, nursery space, which is bright, spacious and ready for use.
“I would like to thank everyone involved, including the contractor and council staff for completing the project, which enables us to further support the expansion of nursery provision and hours across our many communities.”
