Housebuilder donates to ‘Festival of Kindness’ Christmas campaign

CALA Homes (West) collected donations for homelessness charity, Social Bite, after the housebuilder’s Glasgow city centre development, Prince’s Quay, and Jordanhill Park site in Glasgow’s West End took part in a Christmas charity drive.

Presents were handed over to volunteers at the charity’s Tree of Kindness.

Sales staff, site teams and contractors, as well as residents at both developments, donated gifts including warm winter clothing, toiletries and blankets, with some Christmas goodies also included like children’s toys and selection boxes.

The presents were donated to Social Bite’s ‘Festival of Kindness’ campaign which aimed to provide 300,000 meals, gifts and essential items to homeless and vulnerable people at Christmas.

Contractors who donated included Bluevale Structures, Aspire Industrial Services Ltd., CIB Financial, Creative Designs and DS McG.

Liana Canavan, sales and marketing director of CALA Homes (West), said, “At this time of year, we always aim to make significant charitable donations to local causes close to our developments. We’ve worked with Social Bite before on a number of occasions so when we heard about Festival of Kindness, we knew we wanted to get involved and support them in anyway possible.

“The work they do all year round is inspiring and we are delighted to play a small part in helping make Christmas special for those in need. I would like to say a massive thank you to our lovely contractors, our residents at both Glasgow developments and CALA staff who have been able to make this possible.”

Natasha Clarke, corporate partnerships manager of Social Bite, added, “We’re so grateful to CALA Homes West for their continued support for those in a situation of homelessness and families living in poverty. This donation will help make Christmas this year that little bit brighter for so many children and vulnerable people this festive season. Thank you CALA for being a part of this movement of kindness.”
