CELTIC Football Club has had plans approved for the build of a new facility at their Barrowfield training complex.

The new building will house six team changing rooms as well as a further two for officials, a gym, reception, first aid room and office.

The plans, submitted by Ryden on behalf of the club, state that the aesthetics will be ‘in keeping’ with other facilities owned by Celtic FC, with a white base and horizontal green stripes intermittently featured.

Ryden added, “The proposed new changing facilities and gym are to replace these existing facilities as they no longer meet the club’s requirements. These new facilities will ensure modern fit for purpose facilities are available, meeting the requirement of Celtic FC and also importantly football governing bodies.”

Barrowfield had previously been used as the main training ground for the club’s first team, before the opening of their Lennoxtown facility in 2007.
