BARRATT & David Wilson Homes has lodged a Proposal of Application Notice with Angus Council for a new housing development to the north of Monifieth.
The housebuilder is aiming to deliver up to 300 new properties for sale alongside affordable homes at the site, which lies to the north east of Monifieth between the current town edge and the A92.
The proposed design vows to retain and enhance existing features including Monifieth Burn to create an attractive environment with greater opportunities for walking and cycling. A new road connection is also proposed linking Victoria Street and Broomhill Drive, which will help reduce traffic.
David Palmer, MD for Barratt North Scotland, said, “There is enormous demand in the Monifieth area for new homes, as evidenced by the outstanding success of our previous development at Victoria Grange in 2019. This site presents an excellent opportunity to fulfil this need while also enhancing the local area and enabling its sustainable long term growth.
“We look forward to engaging with the community throughout the consultation and are committed to taking their feedback on board throughout.”
An online consultation event will be held on September 15 from 3pm until 7pm at www.MonifiethNorth.co.uk.
