LOANHEAD Gala Day has welcomed a donation from local housebuilder Dandara ahead of the August event.
The local housebuilder is behind the new homes at Ashgrove on St Margaret’s Avenue in the town.
The organisers of the Loanhead Gala Day, which was first launched in 1903, said that the event has faced some challenges this year following the economic uncertainties presented by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Despite the restrictions, the organisers are committed to go ahead with the event with extra safety measures and precautions in line with government guidelines. Dandara said that it is pleased to provide support to ensure that the gala can continue to be an ‘integral’ community event.
Lisa Archibald, head of sales at Dandara, commented, “As we have new family homes at Ashgrove, we decided that a contribution to Loanhead Gala would help to ensure that the community can still come together to celebrate after what has been a difficult year. We hope everyone enjoys this year’s Gala!”
Ross Perfect, chairman of the Loanhead Gala Day committee, added, “Dandara’s generous contribution is particularly welcome this year when Covid restrictions mean we are unable to organise many of our normal fundraising activities.”
