GLASGOW-headquartered Cleartech Group has announced the opening of a new base in the north of England.
Located in Sunderland’s Doxford International Business Park, the water treatment and HVAC commissioning specialist has already commenced with the delivery of projects in the area using local directly employed teams of trained engineers.
MD of Cleartech Group, Jim McGuigan, said, “We have had plans now for several years to expand our operations into north England, in both sectors of our business – HVAC Commissioning and Water Treatment in the MEP/construction sector, along with our Water Hygiene and Legionella compliance division in the facilities management sector.
“The Covid-19 pandemic and the restrictions that everyone was working under put things on hold for a while, so we are delighted to get our office in Doxford up and running and are currently recruiting local engineers in the NE area.”
The firm currently employs around 30 field and operations engineers working across the UK, supported by a further ten finance, project support and admin team members at its new head office in Glasgow.
Mr McGuigan added, “We have been on a real strong growth journey over the last few years and our expansion led us to relocating our head office to new premises in Blantyre Industrial Estate near Glasgow after spending almost 20 years in East Kilbride. After heavily investing in the refurbishment of our head office, it was time for the next chapter.
“Our move to Blantyre has worked out well for our teams, it gives us excellent direct links to the main motorway networks, the new location and the investment in the new premises, along with our infrastructure and support systems has made us slicker and better.”
Cleartech’s NE office will be headed up by Carl Mason, who has recently joined the business after ten years working in the oil and gas industry across the globe and previously working in building services for ten years as a CSA grade 5 HVAC commissioning engineer and commissioning manager.
