CCG Homes has revealed planning permission has been granted for a luxury development in Newlands, Glasgow.
The firm submitted plans to develop the former Calderwood Lodge Primary School in early 2020 under intent to deliver 20 two and three-bedroom homes for sale.
Design proposals include the ‘sensitive’ conversion of an early 20th century sandstone villa to create four apartments, complemented by a two-storey mews house extension. The existing adjacent 1960s classroom blocks will be demolished to create a further 15 apartments including two penthouses.
Landscaped communal gardens and private parking will also be provided. The demolition and construction will formally begin in June.
CCG Homes MD Calum Murray said, “I am delighted that CCG Homes has secured this development site. We have worked diligently with our architects Stallan-Brand over the last year to deliver a design that has wonderful character. It balances a rich heritage with modern, new house building to create a truly unique offer for buyers and we look forward to bringing the site to the market in the near future.”
Calderwood Lodge is the latest development to be taken forward by CCG Homes in the south of the city. It follows the award-winning Riverford Gardens site in Pollokshaws, which sold out earlier this year.
Calum Murray added, “Everyone involved in the delivery of Riverford Gardens has to be highly commended for their efforts over the last two years. It’s a remarkable achievement to have sold out the development given the circumstances that have surrounded the economy in the last year. We hope to carry this success forward in 2021 as we deliver more desirable homes across Glasgow and the West with Calderwood Lodge as well as our forthcoming development, Western Terrace, in Cambuslang which will also be launching very soon. It is a very exciting time for CCG Homes.”
