Work starts on Aberdeen’s latest set of gold standard homes

OGILVIE Construction has commenced work on the build of Aberdeen City Council’s latest gold standard housing development.

The project will bring 92 homes to the Auchmill area of the city, in a mixture of two to eight people flats. The development will be built to the gold standard design specification, which has been used across the city in the council’s development.

The standard will see the properties built to allow for natural light, comfortable living through study/work spaces, have high levels of energy efficiency and be wheelchair accessible.

Aberdeen City Council co-leader, councillor Douglas Lumsden, said, “It is fantastic to see the start of the work at Auchmill as part of our plan to build 2,000 new council houses in Aberdeen.

“These new homes will not only be great places to live in but are designed to help meet the greatest demand for our properties including for families, single people, and wheelchair-friendly.

“I’m sure the local community will enjoy watching the progress of the new homes at Auchmill and we look forward to when they are completed and tenants move in.”
