THE dates for Scotland’s gradual easing of lockdown have been announced by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon. With most construction sites remaining operational throughout the current restrictions, there was little major news for those working in the industry – apart from work in people’s homes resuming from April 26.

However, construction and engineering students are being prioritised for a return to in person learning. Nicola Sturgeon said she expects that students will be allowed to return to on-campus learning from April 5.

She added, “Colleges will prioritise those students whose return is essential – including those who are most at risk of not completing their courses. That includes those who are taking qualifications in construction, engineering, hairdressing, beauty and related courses.”
