OGILVIE Construction has confirmed the firm has achieved practical completion on the new Premier Inn hotel in Hamilton, due to open later this year.
The 96-bedroom facility is based on the site of the old Hamilton Town Hotel, which was destroyed by fire in 2018. The hotel is one of four new Premier Inn hotels due to open in Scotland this year, adding more than 550 new bedrooms to the network and creating around 150 new jobs.
Donald MacDonald, MD of Ogilvie Construction, said, “We are proud to have successfully delivered a new high-quality Premier Inn hotel and Beefeater restaurant on what had become a derelict site in the town centre. It is in an excellent position that offers direct access to the city’s amenities.
“We worked closely with the Premier Inn team to manage the challenges of the pandemic and complete a first class facility that I’m sure guests will enjoy for many years to come.”
Other new Premier Inn hotels are due to open this year in Glasgow city centre, Edinburgh’s Princes Street and Thurso.
