JR Scaffold Services has been honoured for its contribution to local charities and communities during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Paisley-based firm was crowned the winner of the Warmworks Scotland Communities Award. Warmworks Scotland has worked for the last four years to deliver the Warmer Homes Scotland Fund. It hosts an annual awards ceremony for its contractors who have shown a high level of performance in a specific area.
JR Scaffold Services scooped the top prize in the community category for its delivery in community works and charitable initiatives during the pandemic.
The business, which is part of The JR Group, has donated to a number of charities and projects and participated in various food runs for foodbanks throughout the lockdown period. The company has also delivered baby and children’s clothing, helped homeless charities move locations and delivered a large scale tribute to the work of the NHS on scaffolding in an area of Glasgow’s riverside in the city centre.
John Horne, MD of JR Scaffold Services, said, “I am thrilled to receive the communities award from Warmworks Scotland. Our team are incredibly generous and thrive from the charity involvement which is an important part of our business. Being a part of the communities we work within is paramount and we are incredibly proud of some of the great works and contributions we are able to make this year and for the last 25 years we have been in business.”
Neill Barnes, communities manager of Warmworks, added, “There is no doubt that JR Scaffold Services have gone way beyond the call of duty in what it has achieved in the last year.
“They have wholeheartedly committed to our Employment Skills Plan target, mentoring of young people and an array of charitable and community benefit activities to help some of the most vulnerable families in their area and further afield. This award is most deserving indeed.”
