Goodson Associates appoints new managing director

GOODSON Associates has announced the promotion of Raymond Slaine to managing director.

Mr Slaine has been a director at the civil and structural engineering consultants since 2008, initially joining as a senior engineer in 2002.

During this time he has overseen the delivery of a number of high profile projects including the refurbishment of Perth City Hall, the multi-phase Laurieston transformation regeneration project in Glasgow, Waterfront Plaza in Edinburgh and land development projects at Queens Quay, Clydebank and Kildean, Stirling.

His new position will come into effect from 1 April 2021. Mr Slaine commented, “I’m delighted to be appointed the new managing director, during my time I have witnessed the opening of three regional offices and the growth of the company to a staff of 78.

“The construction industry is rapidly changing, and we are well placed to embrace the challenges as we strive towards Net Zero and continue to grow the digital transformation of the business. Our focus will remain, with hands on director involvement and delivering value to clients.

“I look forward to working with all our staff to consolidate our place in the market and to continue to provide a quality service to all our clients and fellow construction professionals.”

Mr Slaine will be supported by the existing Goodson Associates board of directors in Andy Mitchell, Euan Dale and Shona Tait. Simon Innes and Frank Boyne will retire from the company on 1 April 2021, but will continue to support the remaining directors.

The firm said that to strengthen the management structure, Ailsa Seymour and Gordon Hunt have been promoted to regional directors in the Edinburgh and Glasgow offices respectively.
