Work begins on build of boutique homes in the Perthshire hills

MARSHALL Construction has commenced work on the build of a small collection of bespoke homes in the Perthshire hills.

It comes as part of a development within the 150-acre Athron Hill, a wooded parkland formerly home to a Victorian convalescence. Situated north-west of Milnathort, the homes will offer views of Loch Leven and the Cleish Hills.

Internally, the homes are centred on a split-level kitchen, dining and lounge area, with wraparound windows maximising sunlight, with the site layout allowing most homes to be south facing. All homes will also feature a separate home working studio located by the garage, and cinema room.

Alloa-based Marshall Construction is the lead contractor on the project, with W&J Ground Works and Claymore Timber Frames being appointed as subcontractors.

Dan Multon, director with Athron Hill Development Company, said, “Breaking ground is a big moment for us and we look forward to seeing the first homes take shape and become part of the setting.

“The Victorians certainly understood the power of extraordinary locations on our health and wellbeing – and the homes here will be surrounded by the same dramatic landscape and features that drew people out a century and more ago.

“Not only will buyers be getting a beautiful family home, they’ll also be able to access the wider site of private woodlands, hillwalking trails, and a community orchard which are all included in our plans.”
