OGILVIE Construction has completed work on the build of a new hotel in Edinburgh on behalf of Axcel Group.
The 150-bedroom hotel is located in Torphichen Street, in the capital’s west end. It features a restaurant, bar and leisure facilities. The eight-storey hotel is Axcel Group’s second in the city, complementing the company’s 110 Mercure Hotel in Haymarket.
Donald MacDonald, managing director at Ogilvie Construction, said, “We are extremely proud of the new hotel and worked closely with the team at Axcel Group throughout the build to ensure that every aspect of the project has been delivered to meet the exacting standards for voco. It will provide a refreshing new hotel experience for visitors in the heart of the city.”
voco is an international upscale hotel brand owned by the InterContinental Hotels Group. Since launching in 2018, voco has opened hotels in the UK, Australia, UAE and Saudi Arabia. The name voco is based on the Latin word meaning ‘to invite’ or to ‘come together’.
