HARDIES Property & Construction Consultants has completed work on a £2.2 million leisure facility for Clayton Caravan Park, set amongst 100 acres of the Eden Valley in north east Fife close to St Andrews.
The facility boasts an indoor swimming pool, toddler pool, spa pool and sauna with associated changing facilities, a viewing area/café, kitchen area and gymnasium.
Gary Ovenstone, partner and quantity surveyor on the project for Hardies, said, “Having started on site in March 2019 and completed a year later just around the onset of lockdown in March this year, the leisure facility only opened last month, due to the current Covid restrictions. The project ran smoothly on site and came in slightly under budget and – aside from the delayed opening to the public – on time. We have worked with Clayton previously and were delighted to be given this opportunity to work with them once again in what is a flagship project for the company.”
Andrew Kennedy, director at Clayton Caravan Park, added, “Our new indoor swimming pool has facilities for guests of all ages to enjoy. Whether they’re looking to keep fit in our dedicated swimming lane or splash around with the kids, we’ve created a safe environment for all the family. And a toddler’s pool ensures the youngest members of the family can join in the fun too, while our spa pool is situated within a glass atrium, allowing guests to relax and enjoy the views of the surrounding countryside. We’re delighted with the work undertaken by Hardies and the rest of the design team to deliver a quality leisure facility for our guests to enjoy.”
The design team on the project comprised: Montgomery Forgan Associates (architect); Dryburgh Associates (civil/structural engineer); Elders (services consultant) and Montgomery Forgan Associates (principal designer). The main contractor was Pert Bruce Construction.
