Maxi to engage in redevelopment works at former Abington primary

MAXI Construction has been awarded a contract from South Lanarkshire Council for redevelopment works to the former Abington Primary School.

The project will create a new community and business centre. Works include the construction of a single-storey extension featuring two multi-purpose rooms, toilets and showers, kitchen and reception area.

Additionally, the existing building will be refurbished to form business and office space, while external works will include car parking and accessible building entry.

John Aitchison, Maxi Construction’s MD, said, “We’re looking forward to working with South Lanarkshire Council and the project team to deliver the regeneration of this building for the benefit of the local community.”

The project team includes principal designer and quantity surveyor Armour Construction Consultants, architect The McLennan Partnership Ltd, structural engineer McColm Civil & Structural Engineers and M&E engineer Davie + McCulloch Ltd.

A local community organisation will operate the facility on completion.
