AN Edinburgh construction firm has announced the launch of its new design studio in the city’s New Town.
The Blackwell Company will open its new premises on East Claremont Street today (November 11). The newly-refurbished building is now home to a brand new design studio for the firm and realisation of a long-held vision for the business.
The new facility means that all of the firm’s residential home services will be brought under one roof. The firm said that clients will now be offered a ‘welcoming, inspiring’ place where everything is covered – from initial planning and permissions right through to the finishing touches of a home.
East Claremont Street also acts as a showroom for The Blackwell Company bespoke kitchens – made in the Scottish Borders by the firm’s craftsmen, using traditional techniques and sustainably-grown materials.
Luke Blackwell, managing director of The Blackwell Company, said, “As well as the traditional trades you’d expect, we wanted to bring something else to our design studio – construction is a creative industry just as much as a practical one, and we love the idea of having different skills and sectors all working alongside each other. We’re really delighted to have the design studio open, and to have created many new jobs and potential for many more in what has been an uncertain year for business.”
