MAXI Construction has landed a £3.3 million contract from The City of Edinburgh Council to carry out refurbishment works at Balerno High School.
The works include an upgrade of the full roofing system with new insulation and covering; curtain walling, window and door replacement to certain areas; internal refurbishment works throughout including upgrades to mechanical and electrical systems; and upgrading all toilets and changing facilities, a full replacement kitchen, flooring, ceilings and decoration.
Maxi revealed the works are expected to start shortly, allowing the school time to settle in after an extended absence of pupils.
John Aitchison, Maxi Construction’s MD said, “This is Maxi Construction’s 15th contract award over the past three years from The City of Edinburgh Council for construction works to its school estate. The value of these contracts awarded totals over £16 million and represents an important part of the company’s workload.”
The project team includes contract administrator, principal designer and quantity surveyor Capita Real Estate and infrastructure and M&E Engineers Harley Haddow.
