Land sale is a Smart move for Winchburgh

WINCHBURGH Developments Limited (WDL) has announced the sale of a ‘prime’ waterfront site to J. Smart & Co in a move which result in 64 apartments and houses being built overlooking the new Winchburgh canal marina.

Canal Quarter will comprise 50 one, two and three-bed apartments as well as 14 three-bed townhouses.

This follows on from a previous land sale of a site to provide four bespoke homes opposite the new school campus.

John Hamilton, CEO of WDL said, “We are delighted to welcome J. Smart & Co to Winchburgh, at both of these highly desirable locations. The new canal marina will offer its residents a superb lifestyle, located in the heart of the town with access to the towpaths and cycle routes, parks and shops. As a result, we anticipate they will be highly sought after.

“The four architect-designed homes occupy a prominent gateway site at one of the entrances to the village, and their low-density design, landscaping and convenient location close to Auldcathie District Park and opposite the new school campus makes this an exciting addition to the masterplan.”

David Smart, chairman and joint MD at J. Smart & Co added, “We are delighted to be given this opportunity by Winchburgh Developments Limited to develop two prominent new housing developments in Winchburgh, which offer an impressive range of new local amenities and schooling with excellent access to surrounding areas. The Courtyard on Linlithgow Road is an exclusive development of four high quality five-bedroom family homes set around a private courtyard in a prime location near the new school campus which is to be released for sale soon by our marketing agents Ballantynes.

“Our other new development in the heart of Winchburgh, Canal Quarter, along the canal and overlooking the new marina will offer not only high-quality apartments with views across the marina, but also a selection of three-bedroom family homes with private gardens.”
