CONSTRUCTION equipment business GAP has revealed details of its recent depot premises investment in Scotland.

The hire giant has relocated its Elgin depot to a 3-acre site with new purpose-built premises at a cost of £1.7 million. The depot supplies customers in the Moray region and further afield with plant, tools, non-mechanical, trenching & shoring, welfare and tanker services.

GAP has also relocated its Inverness depot to a new, £1.4 million, purpose-built 1.5-acre site. Four divisions operating out of this location: plant, tools, lifting and survey.

Additionally, GAP is currently searching for a new 8-acre site in Scotland’s central belt.

Joint MD Douglas Anderson said, “Being privately owned allows us to take a long-term planning perspective under which we make consistent decisions that are in the best interests of our employees, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders – this is quite different from PLCs who can be a little less consistent in making decisions that are focused on their share price.”
