Construction to start on Macmerry housing development

TAYLOR Wimpey East Scotland has confirmed that construction for a development of 102 new homes at its Weldon Grange site in Macmerry will start within the next few weeks.

Weldon Grange will feature two, three, and four-bedroom homes. The development will include a provision of 25% affordable homes, as well as public open space, a play area and landscaping.

Taylor Wimpey said the project will make ‘significant’ contributions towards providing additional education capacity in the village, as well as local transport improvements, which have been secured by a Section 75 legal agreement with East Lothian Council.

This development will complement the housebuilder’s nearby Letham Mains development in Haddington, the final stages of its Almond Park development in Musselburgh, and its latest development of 69 new homes coming soon at St Clements Wells in Wallyford.

Pauline Mills, land and planning director at Taylor Wimpey East Scotland said, “We are so pleased to have acquired the land at Greendykes Road and to now be gearing up our operation to start construction of our first development in Macmerry which cements our commitment to the wider East Lothian area. Weldon Grange will not only provide residents from around the local area with a wide selection of homes, it offers great commutable routes to Edinburgh and the wider area.”
