Property developer appoints new contracts manager

Scott Brotherstone

SCOTT Brotherstone has been appointed contracts manager at Wemyss Properties.

The move comes as the property developer completes its new project of eight townhouses at Craigleith Road in Edinburgh.

Scott was previously contracts manager for Central Building Contractors (CBC), who were the main contractors on the development. Following CBC entering into administration in April, Wemyss took the decision to employ Scott directly. He brings almost 30 years of construction experience to the business from his previous roles within construction management at Morgan Sindall, Taylor Woodrow, Bovis Lend Lease and CBC.

Scott will now be tasked with leading a team to complete the boutique townhouse development, which will see the first showhome open to the public in the coming weeks.

He said, “I’m delighted that this fantastic opportunity has arisen from otherwise difficult circumstances. I already feel part of a very dynamic, close-knit team and it’s exciting to join Wemyss Properties at a time when the company has ambitious growth plans and I am able to oversee the completion of this stunning development.”

Matthew Atton, MD of Wemyss Properties added, “We worked closely with Scott throughout this project when he was with CBC. He has a wealth of knowledge and expertise so we are thrilled to have him join the Wemyss Properties team and look forward to the successful completion of our Craigleith Road development.”
