GLASGOW construction business City Building was honoured in four categories at the recent Hr NETWORK National Awards.
The firm won awards for Organisational Development of the Year and Diversity and Inclusion of the Year. Executive director Dr Graham Paterson was named chief executive of the Year, while City Building also became the first organisation to win the Outstanding Contribution to Scottish HR award. The category had previously only ever been won by individuals.
Judges said City Building’s approach had changed the lives of many people within the communities the firm served, and also praised the business for inspiring others and continually looking to improve.
The event, which was held at the Hilton Glasgow, is the largest awards ceremony of its kind for HR professionals in Scotland.
Dr Graham Paterson said, “I’m so proud of everyone – it’s absolutely fantastic that City Building has been recognised at this year’s Hr NETWORK National Awards, and to have won in four categories is an amazing achievement. Our staff work very hard to ensure the business continues to improve every day, and to be rewarded for our efforts is fantastic. I’m particularly proud of the Diversity and Inclusion award – It’s highly rewarding to be acknowledged for our commitment to supporting a diverse workforce with a brand-new prize in that category.
“It’s a huge honour to have been named as chief executive of the year, but I couldn’t have done it without the backing of such a fantastic team.”
