WORK is underway on a water mains upgrade worth more than £1 million near Winchburgh village to future-proof the system by significantly increasing capacity.

Morrison Construction is undertaking the civil engineering task for Winchburgh Developments. Designed by Sweco, the project involves replacing existing water mains down Faucheldean Road and Glendevon Track with associated resurfacing works.

A team from Morrison’s Water Scotland business has been on site since September, with the construction programme due to be completed early next year.

Stephen Slessor, Morrison Construction Water Scotland regional director said, “We look forward to continuing the successful working relationship with our client Winchburgh Developments and designer Sweco to successfully deliver this essential project for the local community. The increase in capacity the installation of this new water main provides is vital to supporting the exciting future development plans for the Winchburgh community.

“During construction we will continue to engage with all stakeholders within the local community.”
