MKM Building Supplies has opened a new branch in Aberdeen, creating 20 jobs in the process.
The 3.2-acre location with a 26,000 square foot warehouse is situated at the old Keyline site in the city centre, and is designed to be a one-stop shop for essential building products.
The branch forms part of the MKM’s expansion plans. The builder’s merchant has added 15 new outlets to its network in just over two years and now has 65 locations in total, with more planned for later in the year.
MKM Aberdeen is headed up by Grant Hay, who said, “It is fantastic to be opening the city’s first new builder’s merchants in over ten years – the new team has worked incredibly hard to create an exceptional customer experience and we look forward to welcoming local people and businesses in the coming weeks. Our aim is to provide a customer service that is second to none. We have created a relaxed and friendly environment – complete with free Wi-Fi and complimentary hot drinks. We are keen to talk to both local trade and retail customers assisting them to have the best solutions for their construction projects, installations and improvements.”
Executive chairman David Kilburn added, “Our new branch in Aberdeen offers an exciting opportunity for MKM, the Scottish building industry is buoyant and offers a solid business proposition. Our team of specialists at Aberdeen are very experienced and they have an in-depth understanding of what our customers need. Customers can always be guaranteed excellent stock availability, and an extensive product range.”
