MAXI Construction has secured a contract to renovate the Grade B listed Corn Exchange in Haddington.
The Livingston-based contractor was appointed by East Lothian Council to work on the multi-use venue, which hosts the likes of concerts, jumble sales and blood donation sessions.
The contract will see Maxi work with supply chain partners to renovate the building. Works include the strip and re-slate of the rear pitched roof, the full replacement of all rooflights, alteration works involving the removal and erection of timber and metal partitions, the installation of a new commercial kitchen, the renewal of a timber sports floor, the installation of new ladies and accessible toilet areas, redecoration, and new floor coverings.
Maxi said the project team includes East Lothian Council’s strategic asset and capital plan management as project managers, Summers Inman as contract administrator and principal designer, Harley Haddow as structural engineer, and RSP Consulting Engineers as M&E consultant.
