CLARK Contracts will complete the construction of a new Lidl supermarket in Dumbarton, with a sales area of 1,325 metres.
The new supermarket will be the tenth built by the Paisley-based firm, and is expected to provide approximately 40 new jobs for the area. When complete, the store will feature an in-store bakery, customer toilets as well as parking for bikes and cars.
Lidl GB’s regional head of property, Gordon Rafferty commented, “There’s been much anticipation for this new Lidl store and it’s great that we are now in a position to break the ground and start the build. We are extremely grateful for all the support that we have received so far, and would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding whilst we enter this next phase of the development.”
Michael Scanlan, director of Clark Contracts added, “It is fantastic to reach this milestone of starting on site at our 10th Lidl store having begun working for the supermarket giant in 2014 to deliver their Livingston supermarket.”
The project will be registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme and will be audited by a CCS Scheme monitor throughout the project.
