Architecture company scoops top design award

HLM is celebrating after picking up a major prize at the Scottish Design Awards 2019.

The firm triumphed in the Architecture: Residential category, thanks to its work on Whitehorn Hall student accommodation at the University of St Andrews.

The Whitehorn Hall project forms part of the largest single expansion of student bedrooms in the town for over a decade.

HLM Associate Ross Barrett said, “We are absolutely delighted to be awarded this prestigious accolade for our work on the Whitehorn Hall project at The University of St Andrews. It is a fantastic achievement for the whole team, and we are thrilled to gain esteemed industry recognition for our thoughtful design and desire to make spaces that improve lives and inspire.

“With the internationally renowned reputation of the University of St Andrews, we wanted to create a space that built on the traditions of the University, whilst providing world class, memorable accommodation with the student experience at its heart, allowing the modern student to prosper.”
