SERVELEC Controls has announced it is to expand and relocate its Aberdeen operations to a facility at Moorfield Group’s Innovation Park in Bridge of Don.
The systems integration specialist has agreed a 10-year lease on 6,000 sq ft at Crombie Lodge in a move which will see the company increase floorspace by around 30%.
Crombie Lodge is currently undergoing a reconfiguration and refurbishment programme, managed by Aberdeen-based architect Cooper & MacGregor.
The programme of works include upgrades to the building exterior, along with the reconfiguration of the entire building, including reception and shared areas. Completion is scheduled for autumn this year. The new facility is being custom-designed to Servelec Control’s specification and will incorporate 4,800 sq ft of office and meeting accommodation, with the remaining space being used for warehousing and storage.
Ronald Holden, divisional director of Servelec Controls said, “Crombie Lodge is an outstanding location and this move will mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter in our history, following our successful management buyout earlier this year. We are an ambitious company and it will provide the perfect growth platform to enable us to stand alone and become more agile in our approach to our customers in critical industries, which include oil and gas, nuclear, renewable energy and defence.
“We appreciate the support we have received from Moorfield, to secure and develop a bespoke facility, designed specifically with our business needs firmly in mind.”
Speaking on behalf of the parks’ owner, Moorfield Real Estate Fund III Mark Holmes, head of asset management at Moorfield Group added, “We have a long-term relationship with Ronald and the team at Servelec Controls and were keen to work closely with them on the design and development of the new facility at Crombie Lodge. It is clear that our commitment to an ongoing programme of improvement and refurbishment across both parks ensures that Aberdeen Energy & Innovation Parks remain in demand from discerning occupiers across Aberdeen and the north east.”
