KNIGHT Frank has appointed surveyor John MacArthur as an associate in the firm’s Scottish building consultancy division.
He joins the commercial property consultancy from Stornoway-based housing developer Tighean Innse Gall, where he worked as a senior surveyor.
In a career spanning almost 30 years, MacArthur started his working life as a carpenter, before completing a degree in building surveying at Glasgow Caledonian University. He has previously worked as a building surveyor for private and public sector clients, holding the role of associate at Colliers International.
Richard Whitfield, head of building consultancy at Knight Frank Scotland said, “John brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise that will be a major boost to our project and building consultancy team. After taking on a wide range of new projects, including the recent relocation of Worldwide Cancer Research’s Scottish operation, the team is continuing to grow and John will be a major part of our future plans.”
John MacArthur added, “Knight Frank has a strong reputation in Scotland, with an exciting client base – I’m looking forward to becoming part of the team. I’ve always been enthusiastic about architecture and, having worked across Glasgow and Aberdeen, I know the Scottish property landscape well. Being in a residential building role for the past six years has given me an insight into another facet of the industry, but I’m relishing the opportunity to get back into the commercial market and the change of pace that will bring.”
