Contractors make Fochabers village hall donation

MORRISON Construction and SGN have donated £500 each towards the maintenance of the Fochabers village hall after carrying out work in the village earlier this year.

The Fochabers Village Association will use the cash to complete the installation of an air conditioning unit in the balcony seating area of the hall.

Morrison recently completed a £800,000 Fochabers rising main replacement project across Old Road Bridge for Amey, Black & Veatch joint venture on behalf of Scottish Water.

In February, SGN began work to replace the gas main on the Old Road Bridge.

Both companies worked together to keep temporary shelter in place across the bridge, above the River Spey, to protect the infrastructure and project teams from the elements during construction.

Morrison Construction performance manager Christina Calder said, “At Morrison Construction, we believe in giving back to the communities we live and work in as part of our progressive community benefits programme. We are delighted to assist with the maintenance of the Fochabers village hall, a special venue at the heart of this community.”

SGN project manager Allan Howie added, “We understand roadworks can be frustrating so would like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding whilst we worked. It’s really important to us to give something back to our local communities, so donating to the maintenance of the village hall was a pleasure.”
