FORMER Scotland rugby star Gavin Kerr has joined Allied Surveyors Scotland’s Edinburgh office as a building surveyor.

Kerr (42), who won 50 caps for his country before retiring due to a neck injury in 2010, joins from SSE Energy Solutions, having previously held commercial property roles at Savills and CKD Galbraith.

He said, “I am thrilled to be back working in commercial property again and I am relishing the challenge of developing a building surveying presence for Allied on Scotland’s east coast.”

Gavin’s appointment comes nearly a decade after he gained experience with the firm whilst training to become a surveyor, shortly before retiring from professional sport.

Chris Highton, director and vice-chairman of Allied Surveyors Scotland commented, “We helped guide Gavin in his early days of transition from sport to surveying. He returns to us with a wealth of knowledge, experience and contacts across the property industry.”
