The customer service team was honoured at the Scottish Home Awards

BARRATT West Scotland is celebrating after winning a raft of recent awards.

Two of the firm’s site managers – Matt McLaughlin of Mauchline (East Ayrshire) and David Blair of Largs (North Ayrshire) – received Pride in the Job accolades from the National House Building Council (NHBC).

Meanwhile, Barratt and its sister brand, David Wilson Homes, came top in the ‘Customer Service Excellence’ category at the Scottish Home Awards.

David Blair earned his site manager award for his work at the Waterside @ Ferry Village development in Renfrew. Matt McLaughlin was recognised for his work at Riverside @ Cathcart, in Glasgow’s Southside.

Commenting on the site manager awards, David Scott, MD for Barratt West Scotland said, “These awards recognise only the very best new homes and well run sites. They are something that customers can look out for as a quality mark knowing their home has been built to the highest standard possible. To win more of these awards than any other housebuilder for 15 years in a row is a real point of difference which shows how committed we are to building high quality homes for our customers.”

The customer service prize at the Scottish Home Awards celebrates practices taken by private housebuilders or housing associations which should include customer engagement schemes and employee engagement programmes.

A weekly customer care clinic is held for residents at Barratt and David Wilson Homes sites, while the company has recently launched a Customer Excellence training course for employees.

David Scott said, “The commitment from the entire team is unrivalled which is why we continue to set the standard within our industry. This year has been outstanding for the team already; we won our tenth consecutive Five Star Builder award – the only housebuilder in the UK to do so – and for us to now be awarded the Customer Service Excellence award at the Scottish Home Awards just reinforces the great work happening across the West division.”
