BAM Construction is to host a ‘Meet the Buyer’ event to highlight opportunities for Perthshire organisations to work on two major local projects.
The contractor has been appointed to build Perth City Halls, with work due to commence later this year, and the Blairgowrie Recreational Centre which will start next year.
Working in partnership with hub East Central Scotland and Perth & Kinross Council, the event will take place on Friday 21 June from 9am until 1pm at Perth Concert Hall on Mill Street.
BAM construction manager Paul Carle said, “The work opportunities are very varied from joinery work and roofing to fire protection and lighting, and it presents a valuable opportunity for organisations, especially locally based, to get involved.”
After closing its doors in 2005, Perth City Halls is due to be transformed into a ‘world-class’ visual arts visitor experience. The Grade B listed building will feature a 1,500 square metre flexible exhibition hall, a 150 square metre learning suite, 250 square metre handling area and up to 275 square metres of commercial visitor facilities including a café and retail area.
The Blairgowrie Recreational Centre contract will include the creation of a new build sports development, which will feature a 25-metre swimming pool and an all-weather pitch for various sports use, and demolition of the existing leisure centre.
