M&E provider to assist with ‘landmark’ Edinburgh distillery

M&E specialist Arc-Tech has announced it has been awarded a second major contract by main contractor ISG, after being chosen to work on the Holyrood Distillery, Edinburgh’s first malt whisky distillery in a generation.

The firm will assist in the conversion of a 180-year-old B-Listed building that was part of the Edinburgh & Dalkeith Railway in the city’s historic Old Town.

The new distillery will deliver a series of whisky styles and craft gins, as well as a visitors centre, when it opens in July.

The contract award follows on from Arc-Tech commencing works for ISG at a separate project at George Watson’s College.

John Gallacher, managing director of Arc-Tech said, “Arc-Tech are delighted to continue our work with ISG on one of the most interesting projects that is currently being undertaken in the country. It is a landmark contract for the city of Edinburgh and we will ensure that our part in the project will deliver on the quality standards expected by our client and Holyrood Distillery.

“We started on site in December 2018 and will deliver services that include drainage, heating and A.C as well all of the building’s fire, lighting and security systems. Working with ISG, we will deliver all the service solution within a 26-week programme.”
