JUNIPER Residential is celebrating after receiving the green light for its proposals for an “age exclusive” apartment scheme in Scone.
The development, on the site of The Wheel Inn, will comprise a mix of 51 apartments built to meet the needs of the retirement market.
13 of the apartments will be delivered as affordable properties through a Registered Social Landlord. The project has been tipped to create in excess of 12 full-time jobs.
Juniper Residential’s Fraser Lynes said, “We are clearly delighted that our proposals have been approved. It is now well documented there is an increasingly ageing population, but there is a distinct shortage of purpose-built homes to meet the specific needs of this demographic. Our development will enable older people to maintain independence in the local community, whist retaining home ownership in a safe and secure environment. The apartments are thoughtfully designed and specified exclusively for the location and will include a number of features, such as secure camera entry system, lifts serving all floors, a homeowner lounge and a guest suite for visiting family and friends.”
Juniper Residential forms part of the Cruden Group.
