MOSAIC Architecture + Design has announced completion of the £750,000 conversion of a Grade A office building at 23 Nelson Mandela Place in Glasgow city centre into 10 upmarket serviced apartments for Destiny Scotland.
The exterior of the period sandstone building with an ornate-façade has been retained. However, internally an “extensive” conversion and refurbishment project has created a range of modern homes.
Mosaic director Stephen Mallon said, “The refurbishment and conversion of this listed property was complicated due to the change of use and subsequent requirements of the building regulations. We ended up with a robust fire safety plan including sprinklers and automated smoke ventilation to navigate through the regulations. The design is crisp, robust and attractive making, best use of the existing features of the property.”

The new serviced apartments are now open to the public.
