CUSHMAN & Wakefield has announced the appointment of Colin Clement as its new head of project and development services in Scotland.
He joins from Currie & Brown, formerly Sweett Group, where he was regional director of project management. Prior to that he headed up his own consultancy, was a partner at Davis Langdon and an associate at Mace.
Cushman & Wakefield said Clement has been involved in major projects including the Aggreko manufacturing facility at Lomondgate in Dumbarton, Edinburgh Airport,141 Bothwell Street in the IFSD in Glasgow and schools portfolios across a range of government initiatives.
Colin Clement said, “I am thrilled to have taken on this new role at Cushman & Wakefield at a key moment for the property industry. While Brexit and the independence question are still undoubtedly causing investors to tread cautiously, I think now is a time for optimism. Barclays’ decision to develop a campus at Buchanan Wharf in Glasgow, creating up to 2,500 jobs, will act as a catalyst for other developments leading to the upsurge in development and regeneration of the river frontage.
“There are also lots of opportunities in Scotland’s other cities like New Town North and the Edinburgh BioQuarter. One of the big attractions of joining Cushman & Wakefield is that we can offer a full range of integrated services and access the global marketplace. There is already a great team in place here and I will be looking to build on it in the months ahead.”
Stuart Dorward, head of Scotland for Cushman & Wakefield added, “Colin has a tremendous reputation in the industry having been involved in so many landmark projects in such a diverse range of sectors and he is a great addition to the Scottish business.”
