A “stylish and sustainable” fenestration package from Senior Architectural Systems was specified for the new INTO Centre at the University of Stirling, which provides a dedicated teaching and learning space to support international students.
The three-storey building, designed by Page & Park, features Senior’s SF52 aluminium curtain walling and PURe aluminium windows, which were fabricated and installed by Linn-Tech for main contractor Morrison Construction.
The aim was to create an environment that maximises the use of daylight.
Senior said the slim sightlines offered by the aluminium glazing solutions perfectly complement the dark grey granite cladding, with the SF52 system providing a “welcoming and highly-visible façade”. The firm’s PURe aluminium windows, which have been described as having the potential to offer U-values as low as 0.71W/m2 K when calculated as a commercial CEN standard window, have been specified throughout.
