Developer welcomes local feedback on Symington plans

A consultation event has been held regarding Banks Property’s plans to bring 120 new homes to Symington in South Ayrshire.

The Hamilton-based developer has thanked the community for its “valuable input and contributions” after more than 70 people attended the event to hear about the proposals, which include provision for part of a relief road to ease traffic through the village’s main street.

Jeannie Kielty, community relations manager at Banks Property said, “On behalf of Banks I’d like to thank everyone who attended the event and provided us with feedback that we will now consider at length. Speaking to the communities in which we work is especially important to us. Stockbridge and projects like it are essential to keep house prices reasonable and to give a realistic chance for young families to find quality homes, in the areas where they want to live.

“It is also predominantly local people who are affected by development – whether that be during the construction process, or moving into the new homes, so it really does makes sense to have their input represented throughout our plans.”

Banks Property said it has committed to working closely with the local community throughout the planning and development process. The developer hopes to submit a detailed planning application to South Ayrshire Council early next year.
