CONTRACTOR Veitchi Flooring has been awarded two contracts in the north of Scotland worth a combined order of £1.85 million.
The Cambuslang-based flooring firm will supply 28,500 sq. m of soft floor finishes on behalf of Robertson Construction for the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) and NHS Orkney Hospital.
Veitchi will provide 15,500 sq. m and 13,000 sq. m respectively to the fitting out, which started in June. The firm said the types of flooring involved ranges from carpet tiles, vinyl and matting, and required around 30 fitters, many of which were sourced from local labour pools.

“These are large-scale contracts which require a financial capability from the sub-contractor to resource the materials and labour in advance in order to properly service them.”
